When is Raksha Bandhan 2018

Raksha Bandhan falls in the month of Shravana, on Purnima or full moon day. Aparahna, late afternoon is the best time on this auspicious day to tie the sacred thread, Rakhi on brother’s wrist. If this time is not available, then Pradosh is the best time to celebrate the occasion. The rites of Raksha Bandhan should not be carried out during Bhadra, malicious time. It is being advised that we should wait for Bhadra to get over before starting our Raksha Bandhan celebrations.
